Sound and Fury’s production centres on a British submarine spying on the ill fated Kursk, a giant Russian nuclear submarine which exploded in the Barents sea carrying 118 crew in 2000. After the initial blast twenty three submariners survived and remained submerged in the dark awaiting rescue but it never came.
Co directors Mark Espiner and Dan Jones explore the secret world of the submariner in an immersive theatrical context.
Watch a time lapse recording of how designer Jon Bausor transformed the theatre into a submarine.
